Denver Outlaws Lacrosse Game...ROAD TRIP

Wednesday, July 4th we took a road trip to Denver to see the Denver Outlaws. Professional lacrosse in the west was great and in their victory over Chicago, the Outlaws also set a new attendance record for the MLL, more than 19,000 in attendance.

Half-time show, these dogs were good!

After the lacrosse game, we enjoyed the show!

Camp fun in Moab, Utah

Trouble on the Colorado River as we float with Camp Tuttle's High School Trip Camp in Moab, Utah. 35 people, great scenery, and great fun. What a great trip.

Colorado Fun!

Had a great trip to Utah and Colorado in early June.
The snow was a little deep at 12,000 feet,
just ask Cheri!

With the suggestion of Uncle Fred, we stayed and played in Glenwood Springs, CO a while and had a great time.

New Mexico Lacrosse

Yes, you heard me right, "lacrosse" and "New Mexico" in the same breath. They have now started youth lacrosse leagues in New Mexico, and here are some pictures from a game between the Albuquerque Rage and Santa Fe Pep. Brian, our oldest son, is the goalie in the second shot. As you can see, it is a rough sport!

Mississippi huricane damage!

I was able to go down to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi the other week as I visited our Partnering Parish, St. John's Episcopal Church, while there is a lot of rebuilding being done, I was taken by the damage and devastation still there, a year and a half later. Above is looking east on Beach Blvd. and shows how bad things still are.

This is where St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Biloxi, Mississippi used to stand. Now it is just over grown grass. As I was driving down Beach Blvd. along the coast, the Episcopal Church flag jumped out at me on this empty lot. They are now meeting at a new site further inland.

There are two foundations of homes here, one has been cleared off and a trailer set on it in Ocean Springs, MS as a temporary measure. This is just across the road from the Gulf Coast.
We had a good lightning storm come in from the West last night and grabbed some photos from the back window!
